Restaurant Food Week
New York has a very special feature: New York City Restaurant Week. It’s where participating restaurants will feature lunch and/or dinner menus at $24.07 and $35. This time, I went for lunch at Blue Water Grill.
Got a starter, pea soup.
For my appetizer I ordered a salad. Sadly, I realized my tastebuds are not very receptive to arugula so I traded my dish for my companion’s mushroom soup.
Though I don’t know what the name of the thing in the middle, it was different. Soft and fluffy texture while having a clear taste. Paired with the mushroom soup was delicious.
I very much like my main course. The fish skin was a nice crispy texture. The fish was just so good.
My companions dish. She thought her dish was…okay.
Tried some ginger beer (non-alcoholic). Really tasted like ginger candy and soda.
For dessert, got some chocolate cake with espresso ice cream.
The other was a lemon tart with lemon ice cream.
And of course, some tea to go along with it. Harney & Sons, Paris Black.
While the food wasn’t bad, it wasn’t great either. The service wasn’t spectacular. Our server messed up our order twice and one of the waiters accidentally dropped a bunch of dishes right next to our table. A nice try, good fish, but not going again.
